Coast and Country Walking, North Devon and Cornwall

Robin Hill Farm Cottages is perfectly situated at the heart of the South West Coast Path section between Lynmouth, North Devon and Bude, North Cornwall – so rightly designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with spectacularly contrasting high cliffs, long sandy beaches, rocky coves, steep wooded valleys, windswept sand dunes, rolling pasture, historic coastal villages and some tasty tea rooms en-route.

Passing through Bideford is 180 mile Tarka Trail tracing former railways and ‘Tarka the Otter’ paths in a figure of 8 taking in Ilfracombe and River Torridge. Its relatively gentle gradient makes for easy walking through many habitats from coastal dunes to richly wooded river banks.
In an hour, you can get onto the Two Moors Way, Exmoor, Dartmoor, Ruby Way, West Devon Way, Braunton Burrows SSI and we thoroughly recommend a day trip to Lundy Island centre of Britain’s only Marine Conservation Zone.
For further inspiration, look out for the spring and autumn North Devon and Exmoor Walking Festival which organises an impressive programme of pre-bookable guided walks.

Unspoiled countryside guarantees bountiful wildlife and wildflowers along your way. Coastal viewings could include peregrines, merlins, dolphins, seals and porpoises, whilst buzzard, hawks, skylardks, red deer, wild ponies and the elusive otter populate the valleys, pastures and moors.
As keen walkers new to the area we are discovering these delights ourselves and always ready to share our latest findings – some of which you can read about in our blogs
